Janice

Janice and I have been friends for thirty years. We've had our ups and downs. We've laughed, cried, peed our pants, danced, shouted at the moon, prayed and loved together. This week Jan was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. And so the next leg of our journey begins. I am off to NY to be with my friend.

New Years Eve

I am writing this both because I desperately need something to do and also to provide a place for us to connect and get some comfort. I talked to Doug this afternoon and the update today is that Jan has been transferred to Weil Cornell in NYC. They are a part of the Columbia Presbyterian network as is Sloan Kettering. I am hopeful that they will be able to much better control her pain and quickly remove the tumor. We will have a definitive diagnosis and stage once that is accomplished. I know everyone is holding Janice in light and love and prayer, whatever that means to each of you and I thank you for this and believe it will make a difference. I can no longer research what may or may not happen, and my whole being is on hold until I can get there. Rick and I are flying out tomorrow night and will arrive Saturday morning.
